On 23rd February 2019 I entertained Phoebe, Joshua and friends at the Newton Leys Pavillion in near Bletchley in Milton Keynes. This is a new community centre in the heart of a housing development. Please read the official description (my thoughts will follow)
Newton Leys Pavilion (Furzey Way, Newton Leys, MK3 5SP) is a brand new community facility including a community hall, sports hall and meeting rooms. The Pavilion is located in pleasant surroundings overlooking a lake just off Galapagos Grove. The building has ample parking and excellent kitchen facilities making it ideal for parties and private functions as well as meetings, classes and community activities. Hire charges start from £15 per hour. If you are interested in viewing the facilities or finding out more please contact Sam Jivram, Facilities Officer at Bletchley and Fenny Stratford Town Council on 01908 274 910 or email firstname.lastname@example.org Website:https://www.bletchleyfennystratford-tc.gov.uk
I found this venue very easily thanks to Google Maps. It has plenty of free parking spaces with very good disability access. There are some newly planted trees near the entrance enhancing the appearance and adding to the modern outlook. The main hall is large enough for indoor sports with a high ceiling.
However, it also looks as if someone has given careful thought about the general use of the venue as it appears to have some echo reducing panels. These panels did reduce the echo – this helps as children are often unsettled in an echoey room and as an entertainer it is much appreciated.
NO stairs to worry about, easy access to the toilets and the kitchen area by the front entrance, which is large enough for a team of caterers to prepare drinks and food.
In conclusion, I thoroughly recommend the Newton Leys Pavillion – just one thorn in the side – PLEASE get the automatic front doors FIXED! Both myself and the guests were unable to get in to enjoy the party fun without the assistance of children using the emergency button from inside the lobby.
